An urgent product recall has been issued for a bottle of gin made in Victoria which is believed to be hand sanitiser. The Apollo Bay Distillery recalled the SS Casino Gin as soon as they discovered the mix-up. ‘The bottles were incorrectly labelled and had no seal’ the post read. ‘We understand they are not toxic.’ Like many businesses during the pandemic who have had to pivot accordingly, the Apollo Bay distillery had switched to making sanitiser – which helps clarify the mix-up – but would not be such good news for your early evening gin and tonic!
